Feedback on Music Magazine Cover

As feedback, I was told that it would be best to choose cover with the crayon effect as it looked a little more creative and original. I had to tighten the line spacing of the cover line '25 stars who changed the world'. I also had to cut off a curve on the 'C' in 'Christmas Special' as it went off the page. The bar code had to be improved with a price. On the bottom, the 'P' on Plus' had to line up with the 'U' in 'Usher'. I couldn't use the images as 'Free Posters' as they were copyright. Finally, the green can that the model was holding was a bit too casual, meaning I had to get rid of it.
For my second draft, I might just use a different photo. This would mean I'd have to almost everything as a different picture would mean a different colour scheme and structure.

First Draft of Music Magazine

There are two drafts that I made. They are both very similar. The only difference is the font of the title. I didn't know which one to choose yet so I put up both for now.

Front Cover Mock-Up

A Change of Plan...

Unfortunately, I was too sick to come into school so I missed the date for the photo shoot. It was the only date me, Alicia and Polina were free. I tried to find other models but it was not possible. I then looked through pictures that I took at a party a few months ago as I remembered some were quite useful and many people, at the time, were dressed up. Luckily, I found a few... like this one of Polina.

However, it was hard trying to find ones with space around the model and followed the 'rules' of magazine covers. This image and the one on my draft were my last two options.

Pop Genre

After researching both genres, I've decided to choose Pop. It is a lot more recent and a very broad genre. I can do many things with it and there are more artists I know in this genre that I could use as inspiration.
