Importance of Fonts

F O N T S
During our media lessons, we learnt about the different types of fonts and their common uses.

ABC
Serif Font
(Times New Roman, Garamond)
Serif fonts have the curve at the end of each letter. This type of font is usually used for large amount of texts as they are easy to read.

ABC
Sans Serif
(Arial, Gill Sans Mt)
Sans serif means without the curve. This is used for more formal writing or bold headings.

ABC
Script style font
(French Script MT, Segoe Script, Freestyle Script)
This font is like handwriting; fluent and quite comfortable. It could bring elegance to the written work, or it could be used for casualness. They are not really easy to read, so preferably used in big sizes.

A Decorative font
(karabineE, Bleeding cowboys)
These types of fonts are used for only a few words to add emphasis on them. Usually used for special headings or captions.
